Join me at the NYC Food Film Festival
Ever see an image of food, a photo of a dish, that is so incredibly tempting, so vividly captured, you can nearly smell it? Or a crystalline drink pic so clear that you can hear and feel the effervescence of the bubbles escaping the surface, tickling your nose?
How often have you longed for a chance to “lick the screen,” as we say in the food porn world? How many times have you wished for the ability to “taste what you see” as you peruse food blogs and food websites?
Wish no longer. Meet me at the NYC Food Film Festival and treat yourself to a multi-sensory experience with food at the center.
Named one of the “Top Five Film Festivals in New York City” and one of the “20 Coolest Film Festivals” by MovieMaker magazine, the NYC Food Film Festival (and its offspring, the Chicago Food Film Festival) is unlike any other. The festival features films about food–from burgers to banh mi, from soup to (bar) nuts–but in a genius twist, each event also offers a tasting of the foods that star in the films.
Your options include:
Enjoy burgers from Chef Brett Reichler and others. Taste dozens of craft brews, meet the brewers who make them and try Ovenly’s Beer Cupcakes and more.
See South America’s Largest Food Festival from famed Peruvian Chef and Restaurateur Gastón Acurio. Then taste what you see on the screen!
Head south of the (Midtown) border for the NYC Food Film Festival’s Tribeca Taco Takedown. Watch docs by Internet sensations Hilah Johnson and The Selby.
Chef Brad Farmerie & Saxon + Parole bring you Extreme Eats + Close-Ups + Food Burlesque! You won’t want to miss this Saturday night party!
Chef Amanda Freitag Featuring Tastes Of A Farm Fresh Harvest and An Exclusive Screening of Truck Farm by Ian Cheney, Simon Beins and Curt Ellis.
You can visit the website to purchase tickets for single events, or snag yourself a VIP pass for the whole weekend and all of the glorious eating/viewing that entails. The festival runs Thursday, October 13 through Sunday, October 16 and takes place at Tribeca Cinemas in NYC.
Note: I am working with the NYC Food Film Festival on their social media promotions and will attend two of the events to engage in live tweets of the events. I would LOVE for you to join me there Thursday and/or Friday night!
